“… the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints …” (Colossians 1:26) Paul states that this is his duty “as a minister according to the stewardship from God bestowed on me for your benefit, so that I might fully carry out the preaching of the word of God …” (Colossians 1:25) Let’s face it, we view most mysteries as unexplainable to most everyone. At best, only a “select few” with the proper credentials or connections are able understand mysteries. Paul explains that “the mystery which has been hidden from the past ages and generations, but has now been manifested to His saints … which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
Simply stated, the great mystery that has been hidden for ages is that the work of the cross reconciled us (restored relationship) to the Father. The Holy Spirit, given as a down payment for our inheritance, dwells within us, witnessing a hope, not a wish, but assurance of our future with the God of creation to the end of time.
Our future is assured, what we need to remember is that he has equipped us with (His) power to walk out today!
