What Is Your Stew?

~ Gen 25-27

1. How long or often do you suppose Isaac prayed for his wife?
2. What is your experience with sibling rivalry? What can moms and dads do to make it better or worse?  How do you love multiple children appropriately?
3. What kind of food did Jacob eat, what did Esau eat?  Does that make the birthright even more despised by Esau?
4. What have you sold out for in the past, what is your stew, causing you to despise God’s call on your life and missing the blessing?
5. Did the bitterness inflicted on Isaac & Rebekah (26:35) contribute to the disfunction of chapter 27?
6. If God said the older will serve the younger (25:23)…

~could Isaac stop it?

~did God need Rebekah’s help?

~did Jacob’s deceit help?

~was it Esau’s to sell, or beg for, or block?

7. Did anyone end up happy by the end of chapter 27?
