  1. Read Jeremiah 29:11. Why do you think God has a plan for you? Is it because He is interested in your comfort or your character? Why?
  2. In 1 Samuel 17:46 David declared to Goliath that he would slay him. Was God’s purpose to make David feel uncomfortable, to make David feel confidence in God, or was there a bigger purpose that would speak to not only the Israelites but to their enemies as well? Why does God allow you to be in uncomfortable situations?
  3. Fear often intimidates and paralyzes our willingness to act. What is John telling us in 1 John 4:18 about that? Does any kind of love drive out fear?
  4. Are you currently facing any difficult or challenging situations? How can God use these circumstances to reveal Himself to the world around you? Are you willing to be His instrument in that?
