- Different geography (verse 1) but the same religious test (3). What is the point of this test? What does Jesus do with it?
- How did marriage originally work (4-6)? Why was it altered (8)?
- If you have a hard heart, are you fit for marriage or any healthy relationship (10)?
- How are the childlike the opposite (14) of the hard-hearted, testing adults of chapter 19?
- How did the man know he was lacking (16 & 20)? Why did he go away sad (22)?
- Why did Jesus focus on the “one thing” instead of all the stuff the man was doing right? Ask Jesus if you have something holding you back from the kingdom.
- Is there a relationship between that one thing you won’t do for Jesus and heart hardening?
- What have you given up to follow Jesus? Are you getting softer or harder as you age?
